Work Experience at Bayplay
Bayplay offers work experience for students keen to learn and understand more about the outdoor education and adventure tourism industry as well as gain an understanding about group management, small business management, group events and school camps. The busier months are from September to May. In the quieter months of June - August - we focus on maintenance and accommodation.

Application for Work Experience
Bayplay provides marine based adventure activities, which teach people about the environment. Our clients are tourists on weekends and holiday periods and school groups mid week. We have accommodation properties and a school camp on 36 acres in Red Hill Sth. Visit other pages on our website to see the range of what we offer.

Office Location and Arrivals
Our office, shop and tours are based in the town of Portsea. The shop is located on the corner beside the car park opposite the beach at 3755 Pt Nepean Rd, Portsea. On the first day of your work experience, we will meet you at this location. Some students may be allocated to work at our other location; Iluka Retreat 20 SHoreham rd, Shoreham.
Students will need to get their own way to and from the locations allocated on any given day.
Type of Work
Our aim is to get you to work in each of the areas of the business including:
1. Shop Help - cleaning, helping with equipment maintenance, stocktakes, office administration.
3. Tours - helping out on tours such as kayaking and snorkelling is dependant on the clientelle, the weather conditions and the numbers on the day.
2. Accommodation & School Camp - housekeeping, catering assistance, gardening and general maintenance.
Work Days and Hours
As per the work experience requirements. If your work experience is in the off peak quiet months, then we suggest you work out some days on the school holidays or weekends when we are busier to get some experience with the tour side of the business.

Catch a train from the City on the Frankston line to the town of Frankston
From Frankston Train Station, catch Bus 788 bus to Portsea
Get off the bus in the town of Portsea
Walk from the bus stop across the car park to the Bayplay office and shop.

Depending on your agreement with Bayplay, you are able to stay in the staff accommodation if you do not live locally. Accommodation is located in either of our locations in Blairgowrie or Shoreham at our Camp.
We do not provide Wifi access. It is best if you have a local mobile phone with wifi access as a back up. You may check your email at the Bayplay shop in Portsea on your own device. Office computers are not available for your private use and access to office areas are not permitted.
