Learn To Scuba Dive Program
4 night/5 Day Program - Monday to Friday
Successful completion of the PADI Open Water Course will qualify students to dive independently to a depth of 18 metres in unconfined waters worldwide. Completing the course will allow students to discover the diverse marine life of the amazing underwater world and contribute to Bayplay’s ongoing marine education and research work with ‘Dragon Search’ and ‘Reef Watch’
Program Inclusive of: PADI Open Water Certificate, Optional Accommodation & Catering at Bayplay Lodge
| Day 1 | Time to settle in, introductions with fellow divers, get signed in and start watching dive videos dealing with the first two chapters of theory |
| Day 2 | Theory session three followed by a morning Pool Dive and fitness test. Then after lunch its off for the first ‘Reef Watch’ encounter with Sea Dragons |
| Day 3 | A morning session of theory followed by Pool Dive number two. Enjoy lunch and then its time to explore the world of the Big Belly Seahorses and colourful sponges |
| Day 4 | Time for the final theory exam and the finishing touches in the pool. After lunch we head down to gather some valuable information about the habits of our Sea Dragons and learn some underwater navigation techniques |
| Day 5 | The final dive to one of our spectacular marine park dive sites teeming with fish and corals. Lunch and debrief . |
| Day 1 | Afternoon Rockpool Ramble – Explore the wilder side of Mornington Peninsula National Park. A great introduction to the diverse marine ecosystem they will be discovering throughout the rest of the week |
| Day 2 | Snorkel with the Seadragons and Popes Eye Marine Park – This day elaborates on the bays wider marine ecosystem and teaches them the basics of snorkelling. This prepares them for the following days dive adventure |
| Day 3 | Full Day Dive Adventure – The day begins with a comprehensive theory session covering aspects of physics, physiology and equipment. Students then apply the knowledge in the pool training session and finish the day diving with dragons |
| Day 4 | Sea Kayaking Adventure – The day begins with a theory session and then learn the basics in a calm water environment. Students are then taken on a two-hour exploration of the Bay searching for penguins, dolphins and seals |
| Day 5 | Point Nepean Historical Hike – This gives the students a bird’s eye view on the ecosystem they have become intimate with and reflect on the week’s adventures while enjoying a lunch |
