This fun day tour allows you to travel along Melbourne’s Yarra River through Southbank to the Westgate Bridge and Docklands. You’ll get a different view of the city’s skyline and retail precincts as well as information from your tour guide about the construction of some of the city’s famous landmarks.
You will be briefed by your friendly and highly experienced guide on the day’s tour. The briefing will cover terminology, equipment use, skills and safety procedures.
Your tour will run down river past Southbank’s thriving restaurant business as you paddle in the looming reflections of the CBD’s skyscrapers, you will then travel to the Westgate Bridge and gain an appreciation of just how much effort went into one of Melbourne’s most crucial mega structures before stopping off for refreshments at Docklands. This fun filled adventure is the perfect way of seeing the city a little differently!
Tours require a minimum of 6 people.
Location : Meeting at the Rowing Boat Sheds to the east of Princes Bridge - exact details confirmed the day prior as meeting points may vary.
Duration : Tours take around 3 hours depending on group size & ability.
Times : Tours available at 10am and can be tailored to suit groups.
Session 1: Briefing on the Day's Tour
Session 2: Basic Instruction on how the sea kayaks work, how to paddle and a basic skills session.
Session 3: 2-hour Kayak Tour on the Yarra River
What to Bring/Wear ? Bathers, towel, sunscreen, hat, t-shirt, booties or thongs. Thermals in colder weather.
Participant Conditions : Participants should a minimum of 10 years and of age and of reasonable fitness/confidence level. Children under 14 years will be teamed up in a boat with an adult. The pace of the trip is controlled carefully so as to maximize enjoyment and minimize effort.
