Open Water Course
Learn to Dive in 2, 3, 4 or 5 days!
Have your students discover what lies beneath! They will learn how to dive, discovering and interacting with the amazing diversity of marine life to be found in the underwater world. Successful completion of the PADI Open Water Course qualifies students to dive independently to a depth of 18 meters in open water and is an internationally recognised passport to dive throughout the world!
Bayplay is the only Dive Center on the Mornington Peninsula to offer a 2-day Open Water Course! Taking advantage of PADI's great E-learning facility, your school group is now able to study and complete all knowledge reviews, quizzes and final exam at home on their own time!
However, the theory training can also be completed in-house through classroom sessions by our instructors, therefore bringing the length of the course to 3, 4 or 5 days depending on the size of your group and the studying done prior to the course, if any.
The course involves developing in-water skills through pool sessions and 4 open water dives, your students' first steps into the Underwater World!
Confined water dives are conducted in the heated on site Bayplay dive training pool under the direct supervision of our professionally qualified PADI Instructors. This enables skill development and safe diving procedures to become second nature in a controlled environment.
Students will complete four open water dives, including one boat dive. This exciting stage of the course provides a perfect opportunity for them, under direct supervision of their dive instructor, to complete skills learnt in the training pool environment and to adapt them to an open water scenario.
A Dive Medical needs to be completed prior to commencing the course by a certified Dive Doctor. Our local Dive Doctor is Dr Murrie (Ph 5984 4322) based in Sorrento, or you can get a list of Dive Doctors online on www.spums.org.au
